Larkspur Elementary follows the Arizona State Common Core Standard Practices:

21st-Century Skills

We are committed to providing all student's activities focusing on:

  • Collaboration
  • Creativity
  • Critical Thinking Skills
  • Problem Solving

Accelerated Reader

This reading program is part of our overall literacy program. Students read books based on their independent reading level, and when finished, they take an online comprehension quiz on the book. This is a great way to provide immediate student feedback to the students and to the teacher.

Professional Learning Communities

Each month, grade level teams meet to monitor academic progress on each student, to provide enrichment or intervention strategies to ensure student success.

Title I Reading and Math

Larkspur is a Title I school where we provide small class group setting for students identified as needing special help in reading or math.

The mission of the Curriculum Department is to increase student achievement through the provision of systemic innovative curricula characterized by standards and research-based educational programs that deliver effective and differentiated instruction in partnership with schools, families, and the diverse PVSchools community.

In PVSchools, we engage, inspire, and nurture students through high-quality instruction, meaningful educational opportunities, and dynamic learning experiences. Curriculum, adhering to Arizona state standards, is adopted transparently with opportunities for community feedback.

Curriculum Adoptions

To nurture creativity, curiosity, and strategic thinking through dynamic learning experiences, PVSchools routinely evaluates curriculum resources and provides recommendations for curriculum adoptions.
